Setting Realistic Goals
In this journey to your new career, you will be challenged to be the best you can be and have the opportunity to set higher standards in your life. In the classroom you are graded on your performance and not your potential. Everything you learn will assist you in obtaining the skills that you will need to qualify for your new career. Remember, this new endeavor is an opportunity for you to recreate yourself and achieve all of the goals that you thought you never could. Success is an opportunity that is available to everyone.
The key to being successful throughout this process is remembering that YOU are now in control. You selected this new career field, which allows you to set higher standards for your own achievement. Although you should aim for your highest potential, you should also remember to set realistic goals that will keep you motivated with positive energy and will keep from disappointing yourself. Remember that you do not need to be perfect. If you are realistic about the goals that you set for yourself, you are more likely to achieve them. Understand your own personal limits, but know that it is possible to achieve your highest potential. When you do your best, you will feel great, which will feed your positive attitude and give you energy to accomplish more. Once you experience your goals, such a getting good grades and achieving new accomplishments, you will not want to stop.
The sky is the limit for you when you perform like a winner. A goal, long-term or short-term, should be S.M.A.R.T.
